Arthur Becker was born in 1950 in Brooklyn, New York. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Bennington College in 1969. He majored in Ceramics and Photography. Becker went to a business school at Amos Tuck (Dartmouth) and later began working on houses. Arthur Becker got involved in the real estate after graduating from college. He moved to Vermont and spent time at a Buddhist Monastery. Becker began restoring the 18th-century homes. He started with barns and eventually proceeded to do houses. Becker sold one of the homes that he restored to Vermont Thomas Salmon who moved in after his retirement in 1977. Becker has continued to be involved in real estate industry. He has recently invested in 465 Washington Street on an 8-units luxury condo expected to sell off at 2.5 million dollars. He has also invested in Sullivan Street.

Mr. Arthur is a former stockbroker who made a fortune from buying and selling technology companies. He resumed his passion in photographic work in the late 1990s. He was also involved in Macadamia nuts farming in his 30s after being persuaded by a friend to invest in macadamia nuts. He grew a million pounds using 4 million dollars and sold them to Mrs. Field for 10 million dollars.

Arthur owned a web hosting company known as NaviSite until 2010. It was sold to Warner Cable for 230 million dollars. He ran a publishing platform known as Zinio before he moved into the real estate industry. Becker was married to an accomplished wedding dress designer known as Vera Wang for 23 years. They have two daughters aged 25 and 23 years.
